derived from the central section of Hollar’s highly significant pre-fire panorama of London, first issued in 1647, showing the old St Paul’s, along with many other historic buildings such as Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, the old London Bridge and Southwark Cathedral, all listed in an extensive key below, the large title cartouche, upper centre, which is supported by two rampant lions and surmounted by the coat of arms of the City of London, now also contains the subheading ‘London the glory of Great Britaines Ile, Behold her Landschip here, and tru pourfile‘, this variant panorama first appearing in John Noorthouck’s ‘History of London’, in 1772, and this later issue from Wilkinson’s ‘Londina Illustrata’,
