a double-hemisphere chart of the heavens above the northern and southern hemispheres, first issued around 1690, here updated to 1700, with a large dedication cartouche to the Venetian senator, Maro Bembo, upper centre, ornately extending into broad banderoles to either side containing text summarising the history of celestial cartography, to the left, and listing the variations in the plotting of a star in the constellation of Aries by astronomers through the ages, on the right. Lower centre is a laurel wreath cartouche containing a key to the six orders of magnitude of the multitude of stars presented in the chart, with architectural panels to either side framing tables of the longitude motion of fixed stars according to Tycho Brahe, lower left, and Giovanni Battista Riccioli, lower right..
