a reduced version of the slightly earlier 9-sheet wall map issued by John Evans’ father, also called John Evans, who had died in 1795. This edition has a vignette view of Conway Castle in the lower left corner, and indicates five proposed roads, highlighted in red, the only colour on the map, three in the Montgomery area and two covering most of the route from Ruthin to Bangor,.
