plate 6, the last plate from the 1st edition of ‘Coloured Views on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway’, originally published to commemorate the opening of the railway on 15 September 1830, but which proved so popular it was quickly expanded to 13 plates, with then a further 3 folding plates added by the 1833 edition, along with issues in several foreign languages,  

aquatint in original hand-colouring, 250 x 293 mm. (9 ¾ x 11 ½ in.), a fine example of the first edition with full margins, [c.f. Abbey 400]
