a locally published, large and highly detailed street plan of Bournemouth on a scale of 8 inches to a mile, reduced from the Ordnance Survey, including topographical features as well as all roads and railways, the wards distinguished by solid colours of pink, green and yellow, the parishes defined by thick red lines, both listed in a key panel, upper left corner, the title panel to the upper right corner. The bound-in 87pp. booklet contains an extensive directory to all the principal houses, as well as a list of churches and numerous advertisements. The map folds into decorative gilt-embossed red boards, the upper cover comprising a title panel of Bright’s Map of Bournemouth with Index, and wraparound scene of the cliff-top Royal Bath Hotel with Ladies Bathing Place below,.
