re-issue of an immediately post-war diagrammatic map of central London, updated with details of the Festival of Britain, notably the primary sites on the South Bank and in Battersea Park. Major buildings depicted in perspective and labelled in red, the whole overlaid with the routes of the underground lines in their respective colours. Extensive lists of bus and trolly bus routes, cinemas, theatres, dance halls and other places of interest, with accompanying vignette illustrations, are printed on the verso. The lower cover carries a detailed plan with key of the Festival of Britain South Bank site, and a double-page London Underground map by H.C. Beck (named in lower left corner) is printed on the inside. The mapmaker’s monogram, JWB, is in the lower right corner..
