an unusual broadside by the noted mapmaker, advertising a universal geographic clock invented by the local Nuremberg clockmaker, Zacharias Landteck. It could tell the time around the world and track the sun’s progress across the northern hemisphere. It had a 24-hour face with a rotating dial for the months and signs of the zodiac. The centre of the dial contains the north polar hemisphere, showing California as an island and the mythical Compagnie Land in the North Pacific..
