A sense of perspective – Vues d’Optique

Vues d'Optique

Vues d’optique or perspective views were a style of etching popular during the later half of the 18th century and into the 19th. The prints were produced in a style that gave the illusion of depth when seen through a viewer, such as a zograscope.

We have several examples of these works, notably including works by the engraver/publisher François Xavier Haberman.
